2-1/2 Hoseline Training

Thursday, May 2, 2019
Firefighters train on the 2-1/2” line during their shift drill.

This a versatile line that delivers a "big punch" on a well advanced fire. This line delivers in excess of 250 gpm in our current configuration and pumping pressures. On well advanced fires it is critical to have enough GPM's to convert the BTU's being produced, the 2 1/2" line gives you a fighting chance. It should be the line of choice from all commercial occupancies (large area fire loads) and high-rise operations (friction loss friendly). Our line is a pre-connected line with 200' of hose with a break-away nozzle allowing you to add 1 3/4" hose if the line needs to be extended for length or maneuverability. If extended the line will still flow in excess of 150 gpm if pumped properly. Local terminology for this line is "Blitz Line", 2 1/2" Line", or as one local legend termed it "Big Knock". This line is easily deployed and delivers the big hit when necessary.
