OC Assists Station 600 (Berlin) On Working Structure Fire

At 07:08 hours on the morning of March 3,2014, Station 600 (Berlin) was alerted for an outside fire. Worcester Central advised they had received a call from someone across the creek reporting smoke in the area of the 8400 block of Burbage Rd. E-604 arrived on the scene to find a 2 story wood frame single family dwelling with fire throughout. 643-D (M. Cropper) established Burbage Rd command. Once on scene Station 700 (Ocean City) was called for 2 tankers, 1 engine , and a special request for Brush 15. Units stretched a 2 1/2 inch line and began fire attack while others set up a tanker shuttle and drafting site. Station 700 units arrived and assisted with operations. 652 (Assistant Chief L. Helmuth) arrived on scene and assumed command. 752 (Assistant Chief B. Bunting) was assigned water supply. The fire was brought under control in approximately 3 hours.
